Prices Chicken Coop

On Camden Road in Charlotte, NC, sits Prices Chicken Coop! Prices has appeared on Food Network's, "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives", and appeared in the Charlotte episode of "Man v. Food". Prices, in my opinion is probably the best fried chicken I have ever had in my 21 years of life! My favorite thing to get is the sweet tea and four wing dinner, which includes a cup of slaw, tater tots, and a roll. Any thing here is good! Trust me, I've had it all but the gizzards!

It is a cash only restaurant! And you do not sit in the restaurant!

Cast Iron

I love cooking with my cast iron skillet! I feel it adds an extra depth of flavor to everything you make! The first time I used a cast iron skillet was when I was twelve. I was learning to make fried chicken. After dinner, I was trying to help my mom clean up from dinner, and washed my moms skillet like any other dish! Needless to say, my mom was not pleased. She quickly explained to me that you never wash anything cast iron! EVER!! Instead of washing it, wipe out the bottom of the skillet (or whatever you are using) and cover the bottom of the skillet with a thin layer of salt. Leave the salt in the skillet for a couple of days.  The salt will help absorb any grease to make the clean up easier, and it adds just a little more flavor to the skillet!! I hope you enjoyed this little tip From my Table to You!
